Ambulatory Care

Ambulatory Care CertificationOffered by ASHP and the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), this two-day review course is based on the domains, tasks, and knowledge statements outlined by BPS for the examination and provides a robust preparatory curriculum for the ambulatory care pharmacy professional preparing for the examination. In addition, the organizations offer a complete recertification program for those that are board certified as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practitioner (BCACP).

The review course and the live and online components of the recertification program are listed below.

  • Live Ambulatory Care Review and Recertification Course - This two-day review course is based on the domains, tasks, and knowledge statements outlined by BPS for the examination and provides a robust preparatory curriculum for the ambulatory care pharmacy professional preparing for the examination.
  • Online Ambulatory Care Review and Recertification Course - Online, on your own time! Based on the Live Review Courses, our online course is delivered using an interactive, case-based format and covers real-life patient scenarios. Customize your learning by participating in one or more lectures.
  • Core Therapeutic Modules (CTM) - The CTM activities are designed as a library of modules to customize your own self study program and serves as a foundation to help fill knowledge gaps in various topics or disease states. The CTMs are an initiative of ASHP.
  • Practice Exam - An online compilation of practice questions; download the correct answer, link to the reference source, and domains, tasks, and knowledge statements.

A complete recertification program is available for those who are board certified as an Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practitioner (BCACP).  A full schedule of credit hours offered each year to meet recertification requirements has been developed through 2018 to assist BCACPs in planning their recertification cycle. 

  • Literature Study Module 1 and Module 2 - Online programs that provides immediate access to the latest research and resources on contemporary topics related to relevant and emerging issues in ambulatory care.
  • Intensive Studies Online - Based off the live sessions held at The Midyear, these studies provide 3 to 6 hours of recertification credit through a high-level, interactive debate and discussion on contemporary and emerging issues in ambulatory care.
  • Online Ambulatory Care Review and Recertification Course - Online, on your own time!
